Jean-Marc Bonnefous
Advisory Board Member

Mr. Jean-Marc Bonnefous is the founder and managing partner of Tellurian Capital, a London based investment management firm focused on commodity derivatives strategies and active in the financial technology investment sector. 

Before founding Tellurian in 2007, he was an investment banker at BNP Paribas where he managed the global commodity derivatives trading business from 1995 to 2006 in New York and London. Mr. Bonnefous is one of the early investors in blockchain technology and was a board observer at Clearmatics, a London-based core blockchain infrastructure company and with Adeya, a Swiss secure communications firm. In addition, Mr. Bonnefous is a professor adjunct in finance at the IE Business School in Madrid, Spain. Mr. Bonnefous holds a bachelor's degree from the Institute d’Etudes Politiques de Paris (SciencesPo) as well as a Master in Law (Maitrise) from the University of Paris II Pantheon-Assas and a post-graduate degree (DESS) in Banking and Finance from the University of Paris-Dauphine.

B. Elizabeth Fischer
Advisory Board Member

B. Elizabeth Fischer has over twenty years of experience in global financial markets. She now utilizes her breadth of experience working as an independent consultant servicing clients in private equity, hedge funds and boutique advisory firms.

She worked for Morgan Stanley for eighteen years in various capacities including as Executive Director in the Global Capital Markets Group. Her concentrations included structured products and alternative investments. Ms. Fischer also spearheaded advisory work in mergers, acquisitions and restructuring. In addition, she provided bespoke client solutions, tax planning as well as developing tax-advantaged capital market products. Ms. Fischer holds a bachelor’s degree in Finance from Iona College and an MBA from New York University.

Gopal Garuda
Advisory Board Member

Gopal Garuda, CFA, is Co-Founder and Managing Director at Gramercy Capital Group. He is also Co-Chair of the Advisory Board’s Core Strategy Committee. 

 

Mr. Garuda is a career investment banker specializing in structured credit, capital markets and advisory transactions in the specialty finance, commodities, technology and healthcare sectors. Prior to Gramercy, he served as a Managing Director at Merrill Lynch in the Corporate Finance Group from 1998-2009. He ran a capital markets practice originating structured products and other financings for US West Coast corporates. Post the BAML merger, he moved to Citadel as a Managing Director in the Securities Unit. Mr. Garuda holds an A.B. summa cum laude in Economics from Harvard College and A.M. in Statistics from Harvard Graduate School of Arts and Sciences.

George Hornig

Mr. George Hornig is an accomplished senior executive and experienced venture capitalist whose career has focused on financial services: asset management, investment banking, insurance and fintech. 

His concentration has spanned industries as diverse as health care, manufacturing, outsourcing of business services, social media, cybersecurity, augmented reality, and e-waste management. In addition to his role in leading established businesses, Mr. Hornig is an experienced Director and Audit Committee Chairman of several public and private companies, ETF and mutual funds. In addition, he is a significant investor and adviser to entrepreneur founders of many early stage firms. From 2010 - 2016, Mr. Hornig was a Senior Managing Director and Global COO of Pine Bridge Investments, an asset manager with AUM of over $85 billion. Mr. Hornig is currently Chairman of KBL Merger Corp. IV (publicly held SPAC), and a Director of Edelman (communications marketing firm), Xometry (advanced manufacturing platform business), Syntax (ETF with proprietary technology) and Merchants Preferred (lease purchase finance company). Mr. Hornig holds an M.B.A from Harvard Business School, as well as a J.D. from Harvard Law School, and an A.B. in Economics from Harvard College.

Edward Kass

Edward Kass is a financial executive who has acquired extensive experience in advisory and commodity trading as well as raising capital.

 

Mr. Kass has been the Managing Director of Gramercy Capital Group since 2013. Prior to his present position, Mr. Kass was Managing Director of Capital Markets at Solomon Page Group, Managing Partner at Options Group and a salesman for Paine Webber & Kidder Peabody in Fixed Income Derivative Sales in Europe and Asia. Mr. Kass received a double Bachelor of Science Degree from Carnegie Mellon University and is proficient in both Russian and Japanese.

Brandon K. Laughren is Managing Director, Co-Founder and CIO of the Laughren Group, a single family office overseeing all aspects of investments including: direct private equity, private debt, venture capital and real estate. 

In addition, he manages family business interests in community and merchant banking. Mr. Laughren has acted as a transaction advisor as well as an investor for over 25 years. Prior to co-founding the Laughren Group, he founded and managed Stone Laughren LLC, a private equity and venture capital advisory firm. Mr. Laughren began his career at Goldman Sachs & Co. in M&A working with Fortune 50 clients. He worked at JP Morgan, UBS Securities and Solomon Brothers in M&A, venture and private equity at other points in his career. Mr. Laughren received an AB in Philosophy from Columbia University and an MBA in Finance and Management of Organizations from Columbia Business School.

In addition to trading traditional equity and fixed income products, the firm specializes in cryptocurrency market-making trading and mining. Mr. Sandoval is also an accomplished venture capital investor with a particular focus in relevant sectors such as clean energy, finance and technology. Prior to working at Two Rivers, Mr. Sandoval was a founding and managing partner of OMOG Trading where he traded energy and metals derivatives on the NYMEX for more than twenty years. Mr. Sandoval earned an AB in Government from Harvard College.

Daniel L. Skaff is Co-founder and Managing Partner of Radicle Impact Partners, an early stage venture fund investing in good food, good money and good energy.

He is past Co-Chief Executive, President & Vice Chairman and currently serves as a Director of Beneficial State Bank, a triple bottom line banking organization dedicated to building prosperity in local communities with a focus on social justice, environmental resilience and economic sustainability. Prior to his duties at Beneficial State Bank and Radicle Impact, Dan was Managing Partner of Sienna Ventures, a private equity firm investing in emerging consumer, mobile communications and financial services companies. Mr. Skaff is Chairman of the Latino Community Foundation, and a Trustee and past Investment Committee Chair of the Marin Community Foundation in addition to serving on the boards of Radicle portfolio companies Jiko Group and eMint Limited. Mr Skaff is also past Member of the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco’s Community Depository Institutions Advisory Council, and Board Member of the Bay Area Council.
